GC

Preview or apply task cleanup.

gmc task gc shows cleanup candidates for task tmux sessions and worktrees. Every candidate is listed with its action and reason.

Usage

gmc task gc
gmc task gc --apply

The default is a dry run. --apply executes only kill actions.

What it checks

  • Live tmux sessions on the gmc-task socket are kept when attached or when they belong to the task's current workflow node. They are proposed for kill when the task is done or the session belongs to a finished node.
  • Live sessions not referenced by any task are listed and kept.
  • Task worktrees are kept when dirty or missing. A clean worktree on a done task is listed as suggest with the gmc task rm command to run.

gc never removes worktrees, branches, or ledger files; --apply only kills tmux sessions.
